EduXS is live

A milestone for European higher education

Since 10 March 2025, EduXS is publicly accessible via app.eduxs.eu. This marks a significant step in developing a shared knowledge base for digital infrastructure in European higher education. With its launch, the next phase begins: expanding and enriching the knowledge base.

Next step: expanding the joint knowledge base

To unlock the full potential of EduXS, more data is needed. Its value grows as information expands and connections strengthen. A European Expert Group, made up of specialists in standardisation and digital architecture in education, plays a key role in this process. Their contributions include providing validated data, developing practical case studies, and incorporating feedback to improve the user experience.

Progress so far

On 3 March, EduXS was successfully moved to the production environment. Data has been migrated, links on eduxs.eu have been updated, and authorisations are in place. Basic functionalities like searching, filtering, comparing and most important view relationships are operating as intended. A great achievement by the development team! What started as an idea in 2022 is now a fully operational system.

What’s next for EduXS?

In the coming weeks the Expert Group will focus on adding open datasets, like all Higher Education Institutions, European University Alliances and their participating universities, as well as quality assurance agencies. These datasets come from trusted open data sources, as EduXS is committed to reusing existing data to ensure consistency and avoid duplication of effort.

More specifically, some members of the Expert Group will concentrate on specific themes, such as identities. At the same time, the European digital landscape of higher education will be mapped from a national perspective. As we map the alliances, we will also examine the use cases they are working on, the services they use and the standards they follow. Stay informed via our Roadmap page!
